'Pastoral current of the Christian churches, which includes pastoral agents, progressive priests and bishops in developing a practice applicable to social realities. This current became thus known since, from the theoretical point-of-view, it tried to take advantage of the social teachings of the church after Vatican Council II, while, at the same time, incorporating the methodologies of Marxism for analyzing reality. Several important thinkers emerged from this current, among whom are Gutierrez in Peru, and Leonardo Boff and Hugo Asman in Brazil.
