Itaipu

'Bi-national hydroelectric dam of Itaipu, built in the 1970s on the Paraná River, which delimits the border of Brazil and Paraguay, in the municipality of the Iguaçu Falls. Itaipu is considered the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. To build it, more than 12 thousand families were removed from their lands' (Fernandes, Bernardo Mançano e Stedile, João Pedro.
