Title:

Coming into the world

A woman flies
Thousands echo each other in wine and bread
Opening their bellies
In planted fields
Without fencing …(1)
And you come marching
Serene and disobedient
With the sweat of your lights
Reaching the seeds
And the stem of life

A child plays
There are flowerbeds and tombs of wheat
All together
Brought up in schools of joy…
Without being a prison
And you arrive marching
In the face of evil
Alive and without equal
Arrives today a morning flower!

A flag of flame
Feminine amidst the red
Naked in the wind
Youth through love
In burdened hands…
Without being an industry's illusions
And you marching come
To be a daughter
You arrive in the world
At a time of insurrection!

1 Editor's note: "Fence" relates to the Landless's symbolism of barbed wire.
